Do you have hospital privileges?
I have privileges to perform breast augmentation and other breast surgeries at almost a dozen hospitals across Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia. Despite this, I prefer to perform breast enhancement in the outpatient surgery setting. I firmly believe that surgery performed in a hospital exposes patients to a much greater risk of post-operative infection.
Can I speak with one of your breast enhancement patients?
I have many patients across Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia who would be happy to share their breast enhancement experiences with you. The only thing I ask is that you allow another patient to contact you in the future about your experience.
How many breast augmentations have you performed?
I have performed hundreds of breast augmentations. But this procedure is not solely about the numbers. It is about your relationship with your plastic surgeon and your comfort level. It is always my goal that you have supreme confidence in my breast enhancement skills and experience.
Do you prefer above the muscle or under-the-muscle placement of breast implants?
In my mind, the best augmentations are always under the muscle. Breast implants placed under the muscle result in a more natural appearance and a lower rate of capsular contracture. Mammography is also much better when implants are placed under the muscle. Only on rare occasions at the request of a patient will I place a sub-glandular implant.
What is the most common touch up that you perform?
The most common touch-up or adjustment that I perform is a crescent lift, or periareolar lift, in patients who start with a moderate amount of droop prior to surgery. Ninety percent of these patients will not need a tightening procedure, while 10 percent will.
About once a year I release an early capsular contracture.
What breast implant do you prefer and why?
I prefer smooth, round implants. I use moderate, moderate plus, and high-profile breast implants. The choice depends upon the breast enhancement patient's goals and their starting anatomy.
What about shaped or teardrop breast implants?
Shaped breast implants must be textured, which causes them to stick to the inside tissue so that they do not shift in the implant pocket. I believe this adherence to internal tissue prevents the implant from moving naturally with the tissue and gives a less appealing aesthetic result.
What is your favorite incision?
I prefer either a periareolar or inframammary breast enhancement approach. I find that the trans umbilical (through the navel) and the axillary approaches (underarm) turn a simple operation into a more complex one.
Why is your breast enhancement price so good?
Patients frequently ask me why my breast enhancement pricing is so competitive. Are there hidden costs? Are there surprises?
The answer is no. This is purely a business decision. While I could charge more at my Maryland and Washington, D.C., offices for breast enhancement, as many surgeons do, I simply price the operation at a level that I feel is fair and affordable. I quote an all-inclusive price because, as a consumer, I hate hidden costs or surprises. The only thing that my fee does not cover is the cost of post-operative prescriptions and pre operative testing. These are usually covered by standard health plans.
